Joonas & Deborah Laajanen

Joonas & Deborah Laajanen

Joonas was born to a Christian family and was brought up in various Charismatic churches. His conversion happened as he listened to a Paul Washer sermon in 2016.

Soon he had a great hunger for the Bible and good literature, especially that of the Puritans. Joonas studied in the London Reformed Baptist Seminary and was church planting a Reformed Baptist church in central Finland and later served in another Reformed Baptist church in the capital region. He was convinced of Presbyterianism and is now church planting the first Presbyterian church in Finland, in the city of Lahti. He is now doing his Masters in Theological Studies at the Agricola Theological Seminary. Deborah was born in the Philippines and her conversion happened at the age of fourteen, 2008, when a woman from the church was explaining the Gospel to her friend, but the Lord decided to open Deborah’s own heart. Deborah studied law and graduated as Juris Doctor. Her brother is a missionary and she’s served in various mission activities e.g., leading Campus Ministry in her University for many years. She has a passion for theology and desires to see Christian  women reading sound books. Joonas and Deborah met through a reformed Facebook group in 2018, quickly committed to each other and were finally married in January of 2021. Since then Deborah’s been living in Finland and helping her husband in the ministry.
