Mihail and Albina live and work in the northeast region of Belarus. They married in 1988. In 1994, after studying at our School of Biblical Studies, they began a church planting work in Ruba, a town of 9,000 inhabitants.
Early events attracted thirty adults and approximately eighty children. The Lord blessed the work. A number of adults were converted and a church was established. The town has many needs. Some suffer serious health problems as a result of the Chernobyl disaster. Drug and alcohol abuse is common.
Originally the church met in a rented apartment. New legislation in 2002 meant they had to own their own building as a church. The process of building has been long and controversial in the town, but the challenges involved have strengthened the church in their faith and brought them closer together.
In 2010, Ruba Evangelical Church opened its new church building. The building is still a work in progress.
Thank God for all he has done in establishing this church.
Pray for a spiritual awakening in the church and country and for the many children who come.
