Now retired, Pietro pastored the church in Ribera, Sicily; he and Teresa still support the work across a number of churches in the region, where health permits.
Educated in a monastery school on the island of Sicily in preparation for life as a monk, Pietro’s interest in the Gospel began when he found a copy of John’s Gospel in the monastery garden. He subsequently came to faith in Jesus Christ after reading the Bible for himself.
Teresa was also born into a staunch Roman Catholic family. She first heard the Gospel from a relative visiting from the USA and was converted in her mid-teens. The couple have four daughters.
Pietro and Teresa moved to Ribera in 1970. Pietro was a pastor there until he retired in April 2006. Still on hand to help the church, he also makes regular visits to a smaller work in Santa Margheria. Pietro retains his concern for the wider ministry among pastors and churches on Sicily and the mainland.
Pray for Pietro and Teresa, both now in poor health.
