EMF's Outreach Subcommittee was formed in recognition of a reality many missionaries readily acknowledge: gospel ministry across Europe is often under-resourced. Churches frequently have opportunities for outreach but lack the practical support needed to translate vision into action. In response, the committee seeks to encourage wise, strategic evangelism, strengthen innovation, promote faithful stewardship of resources, and deepen partnership between UK supporters and missionaries across the continent.
Above all, it aims to honour Christ by equipping his people to proclaim the gospel faithfully where he has called them to serve, so that men and women across Europe might come to know and worship the Lord Jesus Christ. Evangelistic work is never merely increasing activity, but the gathering of a people reconciled to God into his worshipping people. As John Piper reminds us, ‘Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t.’
We are thankful that financial support has now been approved for a number of projects happening this year. Through these projects, thirteen EMF missionaries across eleven countries will be equipped and encouraged in their efforts to proclaim Christ and make disciples.
All projects supported are required to be gospel-centred, evangelistically focused, and to demonstrate potential for lasting fruit through discipleship and local church involvement. Accountability remains a key priority, with each initiative expected to submit a follow-up report outlining outcomes and stewardship of funds.
The applications received for 2026 offered an encouraging snapshot of gospel opportunity across Europe. After careful review, the committee was delighted to approve support for a range of evangelistic initiatives.
A significant theme this year is ministry among children, young people, and families.
In Italy, Manuel Morelli is preparing a week-long beach mission, supported by an outreach team led by EMF Youth Development Lead Sam Hamilton. Through sports, games, crafts, and Bible teaching, the outreach seeks to build relationships with children and gently connect them into church life.
Over in Poland, Dawid Kozioł is organising a children’s day camp in partnership with Child Evangelism Fellowship and a visiting team from Northern Ireland. Meanwhile in Portugal, José Rodrigues continues his long-standing ministry of summer Bible camps for children and young people, combining evangelism with discipleship through church and Sunday School.
In Romania, Tamás Moroz, Pál Borzási, and Sándor Keleman each run summer camps designed to help children and young people hear God’s Word in a focused, personal setting. Tamás Moroz’s Holiday Bible Club is expected to reach more than one hundred children from surrounding communities, with all three ministries seeking to build lasting relationships with families through the local church.
In Moldova, Mihai Chisari’s Narnia Summer Camp will gather around eighty children for Bible teaching, discipleship, and evangelistic outreach, with clear ways for them to connect with the local church.
Taken together, these ministries highlight a consistent pattern: camps and children’s outreach remain a key entry point for gospel ministry across Europe.
Alongside this, wider outreach continues to focus on community engagement and public witness.
In France, Romuald Lasnes has organised an open-house weekend at his church plant, with music, refreshments, children’s activities, and an evangelistic service designed to help local people connect with the church and encounter the gospel in a welcoming setting. In Ireland, James Currie is preparing appreciation packs for organisations such as the Garda Station and Fire Brigade, combining practical kindness with gospel witness.
In Denmark, Tobias Haslund-Thomson is preparing his church for outreach during Aarhus Culture Week, working alongside another EMF team led by Sam Hamilton. Through street evangelism, sports, music workshops, and a student dinner, the initiative seeks to engage large numbers of students during this strategic week in the city.
The committee is also encouraged by projects that help develop future gospel workers.
One example is a mission-focused road trip organised by Tomáš Henžel in Slovakia. Young Christians will visit church plants, learn from experienced pastors, and be challenged toward future gospel ministry.
Other initiatives focus on strengthening ministry through resources and equipment.
In Greece, support has been approved for Antonis Topaloglou’s plans to develop a media studio connected to Moses Coffee Chapel, enabling evangelistic and apologetic content for local and online audiences. Likewise, support has been given to Samuel Gandi’s programme of regular public evangelism, including gospel literature, Bibles, and outreach equipment that will help establish a sustained culture of evangelism within a growing church plant.
Although they take different forms, these initiatives share a common goal: helping local churches proclaim Christ and make disciples.
What is particularly encouraging is that these are not isolated events. Every project includes intentional plans for follow-up, ongoing relationships, and integration into church life. Camps lead naturally into youth groups, outreach events open doors for further conversations, and evangelistic activity is consistently tied to discipleship. This reflects a desire to support work that produces lasting gospel fruit rather than short-lived activity alone.
Ultimately, our confidence does not rest in funding, strategy, or committees, but in God himself. As Scripture reminds us, ‘I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth’ (1 Corinthians 3:6).
We invest these resources because we long to see Christ worshipped where he is not yet known. Whether through camps in Portugal, Romania, Poland, and Moldova, outreach events in France and Ireland, student ministry in Denmark, or church-planting initiatives elsewhere in Europe, the aim remains the same: that people across Europe might hear the good news of Jesus Christ and come to saving faith in him.
Please pray for the Outreach Subcommittee as it supports missionaries throughout the coming year and beyond, asking that the Lord would use these initiatives for the advance of his kingdom and the glory of his name across Europe.
