István is a Hungarian-speaking Romanian, born in a village in Transylvania.
Studying in London, István was introduced to the small Hungarian Reformed Church. Feeling burdened for the Hungarian community in the capital, he became involved with the church. In August 2001, he was appointed its pastor. The church is a centre for outreach to the many young Hungarians visiting the UK for a limited period of time. With the arrival of more young families at services, the church’s age-range has widened, and spiritual interest is on the increase. Several doors have opened for the expansion of outreach elsewhere in the UK. A congregation is planned for Manchester and a group has begun to meet in Cardiff.
